The V Family | Seacoast New Hampshire Family Photographer

It’s been several years now since I first met Valerie and Ryan, and since then I’ve had the honor of capturing their engagement, wedding, newborn, and family photos.  After last year’s super windy and super cold family session in South Portland, we were so excited for a late October session this year with unseasonably warm temps and perfect light. We headed to Portsmouth with the plan to do some photos in and around the cool streets of the small city, and maybe in the park as well. As any parent knows, plans can change on a dime with littles, and 18-month olds sometimes have a mind of their own. Sweet Jack was having a bit of a rough day this time around (turns out he was not feeling so hot), and we were just about to throw in the towel on the session, when by chance a mom in the park was playing the famous (sorry for this……) Baby Shark on her phone to her own littles. Jack’s ears perked up, his feet got a little boogie in them, and although it was still a bit touch and go, we all rallied, and were able to save the session. I’m so happy I was able to capture Jack’s big eyes and smile, super awesome giggly face, and mom and dad loving all over their sweet boy. It’s so awesome to watch Jack grow, and to capture Valerie and Ryan as parents. They are two for two for keeping their positive attitudes and smiles alive during a tough session, and as we all know, that’s the crux of parenthood as a whole. That being said, I do believe they’ve earned 80s and sunny, no wind, and a perfectly behaved kiddo for next year’s session, though. ???? Here are my favorites from our time together!
