Love what you see?
Six years into photographing families, I have a pretty standard set of “go-to” places for photo sessions. One place I’d heard much about, but never been to however, is Drakes Island, so when Michele suggested the location for her family photo session last week, I was so excited to go and see what the hype was all about. This place is GORGEOUS – super sandy beaches, adorable houses, a beautiful breakwater that stretches out into the sea. As I took a few minutes after the session to take in the sights, I even spotted some seals in the harbor. Bottom line – it’s a must-see, and I will definitely be returning.
On top of the gorgeous scenery, I was also so blessed to have the beautiful “S” Family in front of my lens. Michele and Dennis have two daughters, 21-year old Becky, and 16-year old Maddie, and wanted photos of the four of them together before Becky heads back to college later this month. They live in Massachusetts but frequent Maine in the summer, so the beach where they spend so much of their time together, was the perfect spot for their session. I had a wonderful time meeting and photographing them on a gorgeous evening. Here are some favorites!
