This summer seemed to be the summer of Higgins Beach for me – and you’ll hear zero complaints on this end, as Higgins definitely wins the award for best beach in the area in my mind. I’ve experienced almost all of the elements at this beach this year – from thick fog, to rain, to sun, to haze, and to gorgeous cotton candy skies, and my session with dear friends Eric, Kerri, and Ethan was one of those Higgins nights that I never wanted to end. The light was perfect for these three, and so was the water – which was a good thing, because we very quickly learned that Ethan is a bit of a water-magnet, and we all went home soaking wet at the end of this one! It’s hard to believe that I have been friends with Eric for almost thirty years now, and every time we get to spend time with him, Kerri, and Ethan is such a treat. This year’s session was just a few days before Ethan’s first day of kindergarten, and it was so fun to see how much he’s grown since I last saw him pre-pandemic. He loved climbing on the rocks, jumping (diving?!) into the waves, and running circles around all of us at the beach. I think we may have helped Ethan find his new happy place on this gorgeous evening, and I have so many favorites from this year’s session that it was incredibly hard to narrow it down for today’s post. Many thanks to my good friends for making the trip north and spending some time with me and my own crew on this incredible Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
