The FY Family {Trevett} | Boothbay Maine Family Photographer

A few weekends ago I headed north to the neighborhood of Trevett – a little section of Boothbay, just north of Sawyer Island. I met Esther, Adam, Amos, Imogen, and Nana Elsie at Elsie’s absolutely incredible home overlooking the ocean. Many years ago, Elsie and her husband Jonathan purchased a small home on the property, hoping to have it as a place for their family to enjoy for years to come. When Jonathan passed at an early age, Elsie transformed the property into an incredible wonderland of gardens and mementos of him, while also expanding the house into something roomy enough for their kids and grandchildren. I don’t think I can accurately explain the beauty of this place – with several different garden sections and pathways, and fun frogs appearing in the little nooks and crannies, and even on the house itself (frogs were Jonathan’s favorite). It has become an incredibly gorgeous and special place for their family, and one I’m sure Jonathan would be extremely proud of if he were here to see it. It was almost overwhelming at first, trying to decide where to do photos, but we let the gardens and the light guide us, and I had the extreme pleasure of photographing this family in this special place.

Esther, Adam, and their kiddos live in Massachusetts, but spend much of their summer in Boothbay, and the kids were very much at home in this place, excited to show me their favorite spots for photos. We ventured around the property, eventually making it to the shore as the sun made its final drop of the day, and I had so much fun capturing the goofy energy, snuggles, giggles, and all the love of this beautiful group. Here are my many favorites from our special evening.
