The C Family | Yarmouth Maine Family Photographer

One of the greatest, if not the greatest honor of my career is photographing families over the years as they grow. Six years ago, I met Martha, Ryan, and Nora, when little Nora was just a year old, and since then have photographed these three every summer. Martha and Ryan have made it their goal to have Nora’s photos taken every year until she is eighteen, and boy am I the lucky one to be chosen to take her photos. Since our very first session, I have been in love with Nora’s big eyes and curly hair, but getting to know her sweet and silly personality and seeing how much she grows every year is really the best part for me. Martha and Ryan have always been so wonderful about letting Nora be Nora for her photos, and over the years that has meant fun jewelry, crazy outfits, and lots and lots of adventuring. This year we headed to Littlejohn Island here in Yarmouth for some more adventures. On a day that was full of beautiful sun, we were surprised by the sudden fog that rolled in just before our session, and then equally surprised as the fog rolled away, making for some crazy light towards the end. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a session with so much different light throughout the hour, but as they say about New England – if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute, and that was certainly the case on this July evening. I had so much fun with these three, and loved seeing little kid Nora turning into big-kid-first-grader-Nora. I know she will grow so much before next year’s session, and I love that we capture who she is in each year of her life every summer. Here are my favorites of this year’s session.
