The A Family | Wells Maine Family Photographer

Memorial Day weekend in Maine this year was, well….soggy, to say the least. It was wet, it was windy, it was cold. But I got pretty lucky, and my weekend had a bright spot with Leila, Josh, Talia, and Jonah at Wells Reserve on Saturday evening. I spent most of Friday and Saturday morning stressing that we would not be able to get this session in while this family was here on vacation for the long weekend. With a little luck, and a lot of flexibility on the part of this crew, we were able to squeeze this session in, and I’m so glad we did. We had originally planned for a beach session only on Drakes Island, but moved to the reserve where we hoped it would be a little less windy. The soft light and green grass and trees were so absolutely perfect for this gorgeous family and their spring outfits. After spending some time in the fields and paths, we decided to take a little time and make the walk to the beach for just a few beach photos, and I’m so glad we did. The beach felt dreamy and was not as cold as we had anticipated (although poor Talia’s cold toes may disagree with me on that one!).  While I always love bright and sunny evenings for sessions, I really adore the soft light and mix of backdrops at this session, and these photos are some of my most favorite ever. I’m so grateful to Leila and Josh and their awesome kiddos for being so kind and sweet, and so very easy and fun to work with.
