Love what you see?
Last week was the much anticipated school vacation week here in Maine, and now that our daughter is in the school system and I work at the local high school during the school year, we find ourselves transitioning back into the school schedule lifestyle. I had to be at school for just a few days over break, but was determined to fill the rest of our week with adventure and fun. To make it more exciting, my birthday always falls during this break week, and after spending last year’s big day schlepping water out of our flooded basement, I decided this year to do something extra fun for myself and my family. So we started our week with our annual visit to the now internet-famous Sunflower Farm to meet their brand new baby goats (and cute barn kitten!!), headed to the beach to put our toes in the ocean for the first time this year, and then after a few days of work, headed to Boston for a fun hotel stay, Red Sox game on my birthday (complete with a birthday crown and balloon!), visit with my sweet sister and brother-in-law, and finally a fun afternoon with two of my closest girlfriends from college and their kiddos. Oh and the best part of all – running the bases at Fenway Park on my birthday (and hitting my 10,000 steps while doing so!)
There was sunshine, there were sandy toes, there was family, there was baseball, there was cake. We’ll ignore my “updated” age. 🙂 All in all, I ended the week refreshed and happy, and so grateful for all the wonderful people that make my life so special, and the camera in my hands that allowed me to capture the memories of our fun spring break.
