Sophie {Class of 2019} | Yarmouth Maine Senior Photographer

Today’s blog post is a special one, and not just because I love this senior session, but also because Sophie is a pretty special young woman. A member of Yarmouth High School’s Class of 2019, I have had the extreme pleasure of getting to know Sophie well over the past three years. The summer after her freshman year, I was in need of a babysitter, and had never really had anyone except for family or very close friends watch my daughter. Sophie was recommended on a local board, and I invited her over to meet my daughter. Molly would kill me for telling this story, but it’s such a testament to who Sophie is that I need to share it. My very sweet but very nervous 4-year old spent her introduction to Sophie from behind the doors of the closet, where she wailed and sobbed in nervousness. Embarrassed, I sent Sophie back home with about a thousand apologies. Molly soon emerged from the closet, also embarrassed and begged me to call Sophie back. I did, and without hesitation, this young sweet girl met us at the playground and the two became fast friends. From there, their babysitting days included lots of activities and painting, trips to the bookstore and ice cream shop, and plenty of “Oh man!!” expressions when I returned home.

I tell this story to highlight that Sophie is one of a kind, with a patience and kindness that is such a blessing to the world around her. It has been a true honor watching her grow from a sweet and quiet sophomore to a confident and secure senior, and I have no doubt that amazing things await her after graduation.  My family and I are very blessed that she has been a part of our lives over these past three years. I am thrilled to share a post that is all about her and photos that hopefully capture the charming and confident young woman she is as she begins her senior year. Thank you Sophie for all you have done for our family – I am honored to give you your senior photos.
