Love what you see?
I check the weather pretty religiously these days – for some glimpse, a peek of hope, any sign whatsoever, of spring weather. To say it’s been a long winter here in the northeast is a bit of an understatement.
So when I checked the weather a little over a week ago and noticed a lovely “60 for Friday’s temperature, I perked up quite a bit. Nevermind the “35” that was to follow the day after. After a week of what looked like it would be a rainy warm day, it finally appeared that Friday may be cloudy, but dry, and definitely warm. If you heard the squeals of delight coming from my little house in Yarmouth that morning, I hope I didn’t wake you. 🙂
My daughter wanted to stay home on Friday but that just plain was not going to happen. So we packed up her bike and headed to the East End in Portland where she hopped on with her training wheels for the first time since early last fall. My little munchkin who was too afraid to ride ten feet last time she was on the bike, rode all the way from the Narrow Gauge Railroad to the beach, and of course we had to stop for some sassy and fun off-bike photos along the way. And of course, no first warm day of spring fun can end without a trip to the ice cream store.
Hang in there New England – it may be chilly once again, but warm days like Friday are on their way. I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy it as well. 🙂
