Personal Share {365: June} | Maine Family and Lifestyle Photographer

Barring any major unexpected life changes, I knew there would be four months of the year that would prove most difficult with this project; June, September, October, and November. These are the months where life on the photography side is quite busy, and on top of that I am still at work at school, creating a few chaotic months of really pulling double duty, triple if you include life, parenthood, and all that good stuff. Out of all of them though, I think June will most likely have been be the MOST challenging, as it’s a transition month of being ready to shoot more often and be totally on and available for my clients, while still needing to do well and not be totally exhausted at the day job. Finding time to capture a daily personal image as well, proved to be difficult, and I found that more often than not this month, I was scrambling to get the shot. I’m proud of myself because for the *most* part, I did not let myself settle with a totally sub-par “cheat” image. My goal for the busy fall months will be to continue to think outside of the box while pulling double duty. I’m learning that capturing our life doesn’t mean shooting all day every day. It can mean a quick 3 minutes with the camera capturing little details, and quick moments during the busiest times of our year. These are the moments that are most often overlooked when things are a little out of control, so I’m grateful for this project to push me to capture them and freeze the fleeting moment as I sprint through these busy days.

As I head into July, I look forward to a little more time outside, a little slower pace, a little bit of travel, and the opportunity to capture Molly’s summer with time, patience, and purpose.

There are 30 days in June. Here are our 30 June days of 2017.
