Love what you see?
I’m not sure who was more giddy last Tuesday – me, or Patrick, but I’m willing to bet he was more nervous. 🙂 We met early at Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth, so that Patrick could put the final touches on the proposal he had been planning for weeks. With the ring in his pocket, and his proposal written in the sand, he anxiously awaited the arrival of Kirsten, his girlfriend of four years, whom he met while a student at the University of New Hampshire. Kirsten had mentioned always wanting to have her proposal photographed, so we disguised the session as a regular photo shoot, set up by Patrick’s parents so they could have some photos of the session. Luckily, she bought it.
I didn’t make Patrick sweat for too long as we took some regular photos while making our way to the beach. I giggled as Kirsten gave me a few funny looks as I stood many many yards away, asking them to make their way towards me (it was a long walk!). They stopped just before the writing in the sand, where Kirsten figured out what was really going on, and stood in shock as Patrick got down on one knee. She of course, said yes.
It could not have been more perfect, and I am so thrilled for Kirsten and Patrick as they enter this exciting phase of their lives together. What an honor to be able to capture this moment and the excitement afterwards for them!
