Love what you see?
A few weeks ago I started a little blog mini-series about some of my favorite places for sessions. Last time I shared my thoughts on Kettle Cove and Crescent Beach, and today it’s all about the Old Port. Portland is Maine’s largest city, and I am always so grateful to be able to live and photograph here, especially in the warmer months. The Old Port, the downtown area of the city, is such a gem, full of restaurants and bars, adorable shops, music, and local flavor. It is also such a fun spot for sessions because of it’s number of diverse options within the downtown area.
The many wharfs along the water provide a classic coastal Maine feel, with lots of different places to capture the look while still being right in the city.
What I love the most about photographing in the Old Port is the ability to have a very diverse session. We can very quickly move from coastal water shots to city shots amongst the buildings and shops and little spots with greenery and a park-like feel.
And of course there is Wharf Street, with it’s original cobblestone and rustic feel – a favorite stop for any Old Port session.
If you’re looking for a location that is fun, diverse, and full of wonderful light, the Old Port is an excellent choice!
