Love what you see?
It’s kind of hard to put into words the meaning of today’s blog post. Family weddings are always extra special and fun, but when it is your mom who is the one saying I-do, and when it is your mom who has been down a long road of searching for someone to take care of her when she has worked so hard her whole life to take care of us, and when it is your mom who is marrying the love of her life – a man who has been like a father to myself and my siblings since the day he met us –Β over thirteen years, ago, well, “special and fun” take on a whole new meaning. I have never seen my mom glow like I did a week and a half ago, as Wayne walked down the aisle to her (yes, Wayne walked down the aisle to HER π ), and I know every single one of us there felt a sense of peace amongst the happiness as we laughed and cried and celebrated a day we have been waiting for for a very long time.
I very much wanted to be in the moment and enjoy the ceremony without being behind the lens, so we asked the fabulous Ryan & Brandi Photography to photograph the ceremony and family formals. I took photos as we got ready, and had so much fun taking formals of my mom and Wayne, as well as some fun candids during the reception. What a treat it was to have my own mom and step-father in front of my lens, and I laughed and cried re-living this incredible day.
Mom and Wayne, I love you more than you know. Congratulations – and really, it’s about darn time. π
Best blog post ever. π
