Baby Avery and the H/G Family | Portland Maine Family and Newborn Photographer

I’m so excited to share today’s blog post, because it is literally years in the making.  Two years ago, in 2018, Jamie reached out and booked both a maternity and newborn session with me. We were so excited to go to Popham Beach for the maternity session along with her husband Clark and daughter, Elliot, but little Jace had bigger plans, and made his surprise arrival several weeks early, before our scheduled date. I photographed Jace’s newborn session, and then life happened and as we all know, even the best laid plans sometimes need to be rescheduled, so finally, two years and another newborn later, our maternity session turned into Avery’s newborn session that took place just this past weekend. In the end, this worked out perfectly, and I was so excited to return to their beautiful home in Portland, to see how much Elliot and Jace had grown, and meet sweet little Avery. At six-weeks old, Avery has grown into her little body, and was calm and snuggly, and even a little awake for us towards the end of the session. And as I often find with the many growing families with whom I work, despite the increased level of chaos and intensity with three kids, Jamie and Clark seemed even more at peace, settled in, and content with their sweet family of five. Here are my favorites of this wonderful family and the photos we’ve all been looking forward to for some time now.
