When the weather on your wedding day calls for 100% rain, in the form of extreme downpours, you cry it out, shake it off, and get really excited for your indoor wedding. When the weather lies to you, and it seems like you are the only bride in the state who gets to have her formals outside on this same day, you jump for joy and know someone is most definitely watching out for you!
I headed to Bridget and Rick’s big day, prepped for a soaker – my first ever rained out wedding, (I have had quite the lucky streak!). The skies threatened a lot, but other than a few sprinkles while the girls got ready, we stayed unbelievably dry. I think I may be able to say my streak continues!
Bridget and Rick were married in Waterville, at Sacred Heart Church, with their reception at the Waterville Elks Lodge. I so enjoyed these two during their engagement session last fall in Yarmouth, and could not wait to see them again for their big day. They are simply wonderful – genuine, smart, and happy, and surrounded by people who so obviously love and care about them. I loved being a part of their wedding day.
The girls got ready at Attitudes Hair Salon in Waterville. They were so efficient that they were almost done when I arrived – well ahead of schedule! I was still able to snap a few shots of the excited crew before heading to Bridget’s parents house to get dressed.

As one of her bridesmaids put it – “You can’t come to Maine for a wedding and not sit in a tractor.” So there you go.![]()

The boys got ready at the Best Western on the other side of town. Rick claimed to be nervous – but he looked pretty excited to me!

Sacred Heart is simply stunning. I could have spent all day just taking pictures of the inside of this church.

I am totally in love with these bridesmaid dresses – hello, pockets!! Genius!

Boys will be boys….

There were sooooo many kiddos at this wedding!! For awhile I was a bit nervous to go on the dance floor because I thought I would get run over! They were awesome – so well behaved and made for many fun pictures!

Slinky limbo anyone??

I love it when my worlds collide. Six years ago, I tutored Dennis in Spanish, and then worked for him as a server in his family’s restaurant. I haven’t seen him since, and here he was at the wedding with his beautiful wife Tracey, who happens to be Bridget’s cousin! Crazy!

Representing Springfield College!
